A highlight of Ovid Carriage Days is the array of inflatables, including bounce houses designed for all ages. These vibrant, bouncy attractions provide endless entertainment, allowing kids and adults alike to leap and play to their heart’s content. Situated in a central area of the festival, the inflatables create a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. This feature ensures that every visitor, regardless of age, can join in the fun and experience the playful spirit of the event, making it a must-visit spot during the festivities.

Parade

The annual parade, a beloved tradition, kicks off Ovid Carriage Days with a burst of color and excitement. Starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, the parade winds through the heart of Ovid, featuring an array of floats, marching bands, local organizations, and community groups. Spectators line the streets, eagerly watching the creative displays and lively performances that embody the festive spirit of the day. The parade not only marks the beginning of the day’s festivities but also showcases the vibrant community pride and togetherness that define Ovid Carriage Days.

Car Show

A highlight of Ovid Carriage Days is the annual car show, where automobile enthusiasts gather to admire a stunning array of classic, vintage, and custom vehicles. This showcase draws participants from near and far, each eager to display their meticulously maintained and lovingly restored cars. Visitors can stroll among the gleaming automobiles, appreciating the craftsmanship and unique histories behind each one. The car show not only celebrates automotive culture but also adds a nostalgic charm to the festival, making it a must-see event for attendees of all ages.

Pancake Breakfast

Kickstart your Ovid Carriage Days experience with a delicious Pancake Breakfast on the morning of September 7, 2024 at the Ovid VFW Hall. Hosted by local volunteers, this hearty breakfast features fluffy pancakes providing the perfect fuel for a day of festivities. Held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the Pancake Breakfast is a great opportunity to meet neighbors, make new friends, and enjoy a scrumptious meal together. Join us for this beloved tradition and savor the flavors of the community as you prepare for a day filled with fun and excitement at Ovid Carriage Days!

Historical Museum

The Ovid Historical Society Museum, located in the beautifully preserved 1877 Township Hall at 206 North Main Street, serves as a treasure trove of local history. Operated by a dedicated nonprofit organization founded in 1972, the museum showcases an engaging collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that vividly illustrate the development and heritage of Ovid and its surrounding areas

Live Music

Music is the heartbeat of Ovid Carriage Days, and this year’s lineup does not disappoint. Local bands and musicians will take the stage throughout the day, providing a lively soundtrack to the festivities. The eclectic mix of genres ensures that there’s something for everyone, from country tunes to rock classics.

Midway

After a three-year hiatus, the thrill of the midway is finally returning to Ovid Carriage Days! From Friday through Sunday, Native Amusements will transform our festival grounds into a whirlwind of family fun. Whether you’re testing your luck at classic carnival games, conquering the Vertigo-inducing rides, or just soaking up the scent of cotton candy and popcorn in the air, the midway is the perfect place to make summer memories. Don’t miss this long-awaited comeback – step right up and enjoy the fun!

Live Pro Wrestling

Get ready to rumble, Ovid! For the first time at Carriage Days, SCW Pro Wrestling of Owosso, MI brings the high-flying, hard-hitting action straight to our festival. On Saturday afternoon from 4pm to 6pm, step into the ring (well, ringside!) as local grapplers battle for glory, bragging rights, and maybe a few chairs to the back. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just curious about the spectacle, this is pure, unapologetic entertainment for all ages. Don’t blink – you might just miss the finishing move!

Creekside Hobbies “Verticals Wall Challenge”

Think you’ve got the grip, the nerve, and the drive to reach the top? Then accept the Vertical Wall Challenge, sponsored by Creekside Hobbies! Located at the Creekside Hobbies tent throughout all three days of Carriage Days, this thrilling climbing wall dares participants of all ages to scale new heights. Whether you’re a first-timer looking for a fun challenge or a seasoned climber racing the clock, the vertical wall promises laughs, cheers, and a fantastic view from the top. No experience necessary – just bring your courage and a sense of adventure. How high can you go?

Ovid Carriage Days has been an important event since 1993. Organized by volunteers, it has provided community engagement, opportunities, and is the hallmark end of summer event for the surrounding area.
